What brings me the feeling of aliveness is collaborating with others to create dynamic experiences which bring all in to the power of the present moment.
This creation can take many formsĀ and includes speaking, teaching, acting, singing, dance, multi-media and site specific work (i.e. experiences designed for non-traditional settings such as natural environments and unconventional architecture).
It is my experience that the arts, and particularly the performing arts, are one of the best methods for resolving conflict, creating community, developing a profound sense of interconnectedness between us, awakening a sense of compassion, and seeing beyond the many cultural and social prejudices our modern world imposes on us. It is used as a problem solving tool as well as to stimulate and awaken a sense of joyous ecstatic transformation.
Theatre embodies transformational processes through storytelling, ritual, the language of emotion, body and breath that touches what is universal and primal in us all. It is to this that I have dedicated my life. Whether I have found myself teaching, directing, performing or writing the aim has always been the same; to touch, move and inspire the courage to place oneself at risk, and by doing so, to fully BE in the present.
The Present is the Gift.
